Eddy - De-Rigging his 12m Kite after a great session!
I thought everyone said they were getting up early, grabbing a quick MacDonald's breakfast and going sailing. That is not what happened. I think everyone is getting tired from four days of sailing in a row.
Blaine and Brad went down to Dog River for Coffee, Ross and I each cooked our own breakfasts, and while it was a pretty lazy morning, we did get out of the condo by about 10:00.
Kent went to sailworks to pay for his new board, and Brad and Blaine went there so Blaine could buy the 3.9m Flyer sail and mast that he was demo-ing.
Jim Mudry and his family were going to Viento. Stevenson may have been windier, but also maybe too windy. Kent and I were first to arrive, but all the others followed.

Kent, talking about how big his thing is. I mean foil!
I sailed on my 4.5m wing for about 15km, then came in for a quick snack, and took out my 5.5m Wing for another 21km. (I was on my 899 front foil wing all day). My jibes are starting to come together. I was foiling through a lot of my starboard to port jibes, but sailing switched, not changing my feet. My Port to Starboard jibes are not nearly as good, but at least I am standing up through a lot of them. I even noticed that I was totally dry on the water a couple of times, of course once I noticed and concentrated on staying out of the water, I would crash again!
I think everyone had a great day! Eddy was out on his 12m kite. Ross was out on his 5. Kent rigged his 3.9m sail and had two sessions for over 100km! Blaine was over 50, and Brad was over 40!

Blaine sailed over 50km!
Al tried his windsurfer, but said he was tired of slogging, so he took out his foil board and gave it a try. He had some good foiling reaches, and is starting to get the knack of it.
Big Air Jim was getting most of his jibes, and had a great sail, in spite of at one point I didn't look and turned right in front of him. Dumb! I looked every time after that! Fortunately, Jim was watching me and avoided a crash!

Big Air Jim - Having fun!
Cam rocked on his Wing. He foiled for over 50km over two sessions and was doing sweet linked jibes making an "S" down the river!
At one point, Ross and Kent went way up river. It seemed like a good idea at the time but the wind died. Ross turned down and foiled away leaving Kent slogging and hoping for a puff to get back. Fortunately for Kent a puff came and the foil back in building conditions was smooth and easy.
Cam and Ross's friend Kit was also there. Kit is from the Shuswap, and knows Cam from Windermere where their grand parents had cabins. He also knows Ross from kiting at Keho. Anyway, nice fellow. He is a kiter, but is trying to learn to Wing.

Mike was the only one not to get wet today. He was letting is big toe heal. Apparently he hurt it yesterday. He took some photos, a few of which are attached.
Everyone was very tired after their sessions, so it took a long time, and a few beers to de-rig. Hours, in fact!
Eventually we headed out for supper. Everyone seemed to know that we had reservations at 6th Street for 7:00. When we got to the desk and said we had a reservation, the lady (Chris's wife), said "No, we don't accept reservations". We insisted that someone had called an spoken to someone. It turned out that no one had actually called, but everyone thought someone else had made the reservations. Cam even sent Kit a text confirming that the reservation was for 7:00. Too funny - too many senior citizens on this trip!
Anyway, they had space for us. Everyone was there except for Brad, who is still isolating! Nice evening.
When we got back to the Condo, we watched the Day one of Sail GP France. Early to bed again!
Mike's Photos
Mike came over in the morning and gave me more photos from the day. Here they are. Thanks Mike!
